The Equiery's Spring/Summer Interns

The Equiery’s internship program began in 2003 and introduces high school and college students to all aspects of publishing a monthly magazine, from designing ads, writing articles and photo editing, to customer service, database updates and social media and web archiving. Equiery interns have gone on to work in a variety of areas including other publications, nonprofit organizations and public relation firms. The Equiery accepts interns year-round. If you are interested in becoming an Equiery intern, please contact Katherine Rizzo at katherine.rizzo@equiry.com or call 1-800-244-9580 x107.

Alexa Easton
This is Alexa’s second time working with The Equiery, as last year she completed her senior internship requirement for the Academy of the Holy Cross by contributing to our team for one month. Her love of everything equestrian and her great experiences photographing and reporting on events inspired her to return this summer.

After the summer, Alexa will be entering her sophomore year at Boston University’s College of Communication where she is pursuing a degree in advertising. In Boston, she competes for both BU’s Equestrian and Ski Racing teams. Alexa’s passion is eventing, as she has competed through Training Level on various mounts; however, her competitive career is on hold until she finishes college.

For now, she enjoys visiting her long-retired Appaloosa first pony Daisy and working on dressage with her coach’s horse, Jack, when she is home on breaks. This summer, Alexa is also interning at Sisarina, a marketing company in Bethesda, and she looks forward to the invaluable experience from both internships.
